The Commission has released a major new report about the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlights how critical gaps in the emergency response could be improved upon in future crises.

The report, titled 'Collateral Damage', is centred on the personal stories of 5,000 Australians and outlines the human impact of measures on all people, including international and domestic border closures, lockdowns, school disruptions, quarantine, and healthcare restrictions.

Human Rights Commissioner Lorraine Finlay has recorded a video to report the findings, and to thank all the people who bravely shared their stories.
